PAUL J. SYTNIK
age 59, of Highland, passed away Monday May 12, 2014. Paul is survived by his children: Michael Sytnik, Marcia (Louis Scannicchio) Sytnik & Matthew Sytnik; grandchildren Jaelynn Sytnik & Louis R. Scannicchio; mother of his children Susan Koshman; uncles Rich Turpin & Chuck Turpin; cousin Christy Turpin-Fay; mother in law Marjorie Roehrich; friends: Art, Charlie, Steve, Bob, Leo, Paul, Mick, Bill, Lee, Ernie, Ed. Preceded in death by his parents Hank & Shirley Sytnik, aunts Betty Kalbac & Marge Lukowski, uncles: Bob, Bill & Jim Turpin; father in law Phil Roehrich; friend Jack Lowe.
Paul worked in the supermarket industry for over 40 years. He began as a bagboy at Berger's and worked his way up through many positions. Paul was Manager of Strack & VanTil's for over 10 years. He was a diehard Yankees fan and an avid Bears fan. Paul was a member of Sons of the American Legion and enjoyed meeting with his friends, who called him "Budman" at the American Legion Post 180. He was a devoted and loving father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 17, 2014 at 1:30 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 7109 Calumet Ave Hammond. Cremation at Solan Pruzin Crematory to follow. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 11:00 AM –2:00 PM.
