Peter "Pete" Polos

age 79, of Schererville, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, April 13, 2024. Pete is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marie; daughters, Rhonda Klen and Wendy Polos; grandsons: Gage Rodda, Aidan Klen, and Ian Klen; and sister, Geraldine Landgrebe. Preceded in death by his parents, Peter and Florence Polos; one brother, and one sister.

Pete was a 1963 graduate of Hammond High School and immediately began his career at Inland Steel, where he dedicated 36 years of hard work and commitment until his retirement.

Beyond his professional life, Pete was known for his love of sports, namely hockey, softball, and golf. His passion extended to building model cars, showcasing meticulous attention to detail and craftmanship. A talented drummer, Pete found solace and expression through music, especially his love for oldies, which filled his home with melodies and memories.

Above all, Peter cherished his family. His unwavering love and devotion were evident in every moment spent together, creating lasting bonds and cherished memories that will be cherished forever.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2024 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375. A service will be held at the funeral home on Friday, April 19 at 12:00 PM. Friends may visit with the family on Friday morning from 11:00 AM until time of service. Burial to follow at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens in Schererville, IN. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area.
