Ralph Hoosier

Age 85, of Hammond, IN was called by the Lord on Sunday, February 28, 2021. Ralph is survived by his beloved wife of 32 years and best friend of 52 years, Verna; loving children, Jane(Anthony)Rios, Linda(Anthony)Rodgers, Teresa(Nicholas)Schweihs; Donald Fulton and Michael(Christina)Fulton; precious grandchildren, Kimberly, Nicole, Anita, Angelina, Samantha, Scott, Jeffery, Aaron, Cheyane, Dakota, Chenoa and Crystal; 11 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Louis-Jean, Sherrill and Bertha. Preceded by parents, William and Lula Hoosier and beloved daughter, Debbie Fulton; granddaughters, Georgia and Jenny.

Ralph retired from the City of Hammond sanitation department. After that he went on to spend many years as a school crossing guard in Hammond. He was a member of New Harvest Church of Hammond. Ralph was a loving and kind man with a wonderful smile that he shared with everyone he met. He cherished his family and will be dearly missed by them.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021 at 12:00 noon at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond, IN with Pastor Brian Shaver officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the funeral home Friday morning from 10:00 AM until time of service.  Burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery in Gary, IN. Face mask and social distancing required.
