Rebecca Jeanne Gunter (nee Katayanagi)

Age 75, of Schererville, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025. She is survived by her loving son, Charles "Buck" (Sabrina) Gunter; loving daughter, Kim (Brian) Heusinkveld; precious grandchildren, Isabella, CJ, Liam, Austin (Kat), Kaylie, Kennedy, Isabella, and Rebecca; great-grandson, Aurelius.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Chuck Gunter; and her mother, Kimiko Kate Katayanagi (nee Matsutani); along with many cherished family members and dear friends.

Rebecca had a kind, generous spirit. She loved teaching, helping others and was known for her thoughtfulness and giving heart. She enjoyed shopping, going out to eat, and most of all, spending time with her loved ones. She left a lasting impression on everyone she met. Though she may no longer be with us, her laughter, wisdom, and endless love will forever remain woven into the fabric of our lives.

A Visitation will be held on Friday, November 7, 2025, from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. A Celebration of Life will be held at 7:30 PM. Services will conclude at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be greatly appreciated.
