Obituary

Richard Alan Grosskurth

was born on August 27, 1948

to Martha and Edwin Grosskurth  in Roseland, Illinois.

He was the third of a total of six siblings.

Gerry Grosskurth (survived by Gail Grosskurth),

Gayle Simnick (Al Simnick),

Phil Grosskurth (survived by Cynthia Grosskurth),

Phyllis Grosskurth, and

Janet Noonan (Bill Noonan).

Richard went to college at the University of Chicago

where he obtained a degree in respiratory therapy.

While in college he enjoyed running and playing soccer.

He started working at  Methodist Hospital in Gary, IN

where he met his future wife, Virginia.

They married in January of 1977 and later that year, welcomed

their son Ian  into the world.

Within the next 7 years they welcomed

Ariane and Megan into the world.

Richard worked for 41 years and retired in 2013.

Always having a desire to learn, Richard self taught 5  different

languages to himself

and was extremely knowledgeable on various subjects -

history, geography, and mathematics just to name a few.

He leaves behind his Wife, Virginia Grosskurth

and their Three Children

Ian Grosskurth (Rhea Grosskurth),

Ariane Grosskurth,

Megan Yamat (Ryan Yamat)

and Four Grandchildren

Alexis Grosskurth (10)

Noah Yamat (7)

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, March 27, 2017 from 2:00-8:00pm at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at 10:00am at the funeral home. Richard will be laid to rest immediatley after services at Memory Lane Cemetery Schererville, IN.

He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or

crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away.

Revelation 21:4

And the dust returns to the earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it.
