Richard Lamberta

Richard Lamberta, of Griffith, IN passed away Sunday, May 24, 2026 at the age of 83. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Richard is survived by his loving children, Tonia (Tom) Deyoung and Dominic Lamberta; cherished grandchildren, Nicholas and Emily Deyoung, and Zachary and A.J. Lamberta. He is also survived by many extended family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Beverly J. Lamberta (nee Johnston); loving parents, Dominic (Bart) and Maxine Lamberta.

Richard was a proud veteran who honorably served his country with dedication and pride. He later devoted many years of service to his community as a police officer with the Steger Police Department and also worked as a campus officer at Governor State University, where he was respected for his commitment, kindness and strong sense of duty.

Above all else, Richard was a family man. He always put his family first and treasured every moment spent with his children and grandchildren. He had a passion for classic cars and could often be found admiring vintage automobiles or reminiscing about his favorites. Richard also had a deep love for music, especially the oldies, and enjoyed listening to his beloved 45 records, which brough him great joy throughout the years.

Richard’s kindness, loyalty, and dedication to both his family and community will always be remembered. His presence, wisdom, and warm heart will be dearly missed by all whose lives he touched.
