Richard J. Silny

Age 79, of Highland, IN passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 16, 2025. Richard is survived by his devoted daughter, Jennifer (Jeffrey) Moeglin; cherished grandchildren, Stacy, Stephen Moeglin, Sarah (Kaylee), Aeryn Silny and Olivia Silny; precious great-grandchildren, Brooklyn and Zoey. Richard is also survived by his loving mother, Arliss Duwer (nee Gifford). He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Pamela Silny; son, Richard (still living, Joelle) Silny Jr.

Richard was a proud graduate of Highland High School, Class of 1965. He went on to enjoy a long and dedicated career with Inland Steel before his retirement. A man of creativity and patience, he especially loved building with Legos, and a pastime that brought joy to both him and those who loved him.

A Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. Services conclude at the funeral home.

Richard will be remembered for his quiet strength, his devotion to his family, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
