Rita S. Weaver (nee Wells)

age 66, of Hammond, IN, passed away on Monday, June12, 2023. She is survived by her loving children: Michelle (Steve) Wegrzyn and Michael (Brooke) McMahan; mother, Donna Wells; precious grandchildren: Kate (Joey) Rader, Lindsay Sisk, Mason Wegrzyn, Karrington Wegrzyn, Jeffrey McMahan, Jaxson McMahan, and Bryce McMahan; siblings, Darwin (Denise) Wells and Belinda (Greg) Britton; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Preceded in death by her loving husband of over 20 years, Jimmy Weaver; father, James E. Wells, and brother Donald Wells.

Rita was a graduate of Morton High School and worked as a manager at Plaza Lanes. She enjoyed the warmer weather so she could be outdoors tending to her plants. She found pleasure in frequenting any and all Dollar Stores. Her greatest joy was bringing happiness to children so she cherished filling bags with gifts and handing them out to all of the kids, even if they weren't hers. She will be forever missed and remembered as a one-of-a-kind mother who loved her children and grandchildren more than words could express.

A Visitation will be held from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, on Sunday, June 18, 2023 at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375. Services conclude at the funeral home. Burial private.
