Robert "Bob" Alvarez

age 64, of Dyer, formerly of Whiting, IN, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018.   Bob is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, JoAnn; children, Aniceto Alvarez III, Robert Jr. (Jenn Kirk) Alvarez, Susie Krajewski and Jerilyn Mayhak; granddaughter, Gia; siblings, Carmen (Charlie) Vinas, MaryLou Neubauer, Connie (Sam) Guzzo, Gloria Alvarez, Rick Alvarez, John (Bonnie) Alvarez, Janie (Ruben) Santoy, Annette and Julie Alvarez; uncle to many nieces and nephews who loved him. He is preceded in death by his parents Aniceto and Blanche Alvarez; siblings, Lupe and Thersea.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 7109 Calumet Ave., Hammond, IN 46324 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday at 7:00 PM with Pastor John Cooper officiating.

Bob graduated from Harrison High School in Chicago, IL.  He once belonged to the Chicago Club for the Deaf and the South Town Club.  Bob enjoyed bowling for over 35 years and playing on Softball Leagues for the Deaf.  He was known for woodworking and being a handyman around the house.  In Lieu of flowers donations to the family would be appreciated.
