Robert M. Hellems "Buffalo Bob"
age 65, of Hammond, passed away Saturday, July 22, 2017. Bob is survived by his wife of 27 years Janet children: Brian(Tanya)Norton, Eric Norton, Stacey(Michael)Smith, Jennifer Hellems, Michelle Hellems. 13 grandchildren: Brian,Taylor, Aspen, Austin, Hailee, Bryce Norton, Victoria Grace Smith soon to come, Samatha, Amanda, Brittany, Deanna, Haley, Ashley,11 Great grandchildren, 3 sisters: Linda(Bob)Trinkle, Cyndee(late Phil)Tanas, Theresa Hellems, 2 sisters-in-law: Joy(Don)Wilimzik, Joanne Kottka, brother-in-law: David(Patricia) Kottka, many nieces, nephews and furry friend Lady Jane. Preceded in death by his parents Joe and Dolores Hellems, mother-in-law BeBeanna Kottka.
Funeral services will be held on Friday July 28, 2017 at 11:00
AM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home 14 Kennedy
Ave. Schererville, In(corner Main & Kennedy)with Deacon Michael Halas officiating. At rest Memory Lane Cemetery Schererville. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday July 27 , 2017 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
Bob was a longtime Mason, retired Boilermaker Local 374
in 2007, Graduate of Washington High School and University of Illinois. Member American Legion & Freedom Riders in Lansing, IL, member VFW in Griffith, IN. Member Chicago Viet Nam Veterans.
