Robert F. Daily

age 82, of Highland, formerly of Hammond, Munster, and St. John, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Saturday, February 12, 2022. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joy Daily (nee Jackson); son Robert Daily and daughter Jolene (Daniel) Gelarden; grandchildren Bryce and Ellie Joy Gelarden; dear cousins Mary Jane Hallock and Sandy Mitchel, who were like sisters; and other extended family. Preceded in death by his parents Carl G. Daily and Caroline M. Daily; dear son Jamie Daily; and many precious pets.

Robert was a 1957 graduate of Hammond High School and went on to receive his Associate's Degree from DeVry Tech. He later retired from LTV Steel after 42 years of service.

Family was everything to Robert. He enjoyed traveling and going on vacations with his wife Joy, particularly their trips up to Michigan. He also loved being involved with his grandchildren's activities, rarely missing a sporting event or dance recital. Another special part of Robert's life were his pets, especially his rescue dog "Rosie". He also enjoyed fishing and gardening.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Hartsfield Village and Hospice of the Calumet Area for the loving care that Robert received. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert's name, may be made to Hospice of the Calumet Area or to the animal shelter of your choice.
