Robert D. Eskew Jr.

age 75, of Schererville, formerly of Hammond and Illinois, passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2024. Robert is survived by his wife Rosa Eskew; children, Robert Dale III, Matthew (Rita) Eskew, Megan (Anthony) Ramos; grandchildren, Ellegra (Logan), Emera (Andrew), AJ, Lincoln, Calla, Molly; as well as his great-grandchildren, Adalyn, McKenna and Elliana.  He is preceded in death by his parents Robert Dale Eskew Sr. and Winifred Eskew (nee Raison).

Robert was a 1967 graduate of T.F. North Highschool. He then went on to serve his country in Vietnam and was a part of the U.S. Army. In 2009, Robert was inducted in The Chicago 16" Hall of Fame manager of Womens Softball.  He taught at Bloom Township Highschool for 25 years, as well as Chicago State University for two years and retired. Robert taught special education and coached baseball, softball, basketball, and volleyball.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, from 3:00PM – 7:00PM with a 6:30PM prayer service at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN 46375. Burial will take place on a later date at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
