In off hours, he was a member of the Navy basketball and track teams. Worth noting, Robert's parents emigrated from Scotland in 1921; at the age of 80 his Scottish pride drove him to finally visit their homeland. He was a parishioner of Our Lady of Grace Church in Highland. Bob had a passion for running, was an original member of the Calumet Region Striders and loved to talk about the many marathons and road races he competed in over the years. Bob is most proud of his caring wife, his children and grandchildren especially when watching them from the sidelines of their sporting events.
