Robert R. Szany – "Szany"

Age 52, of Hammond, Indiana, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.

He is survived by his dear wife and friend, Lisa Hodge; his loving children, Kimmie (Aaron) Floor, Tyler (Mackenzie) Betustak, Zachary (Francesca) Szany, and Nick George; precious grandchildren, Eleanor and Mason Floor; beloved sister, Melissa King; "cousin Rob", who was like a brother to him; along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family. Bob adored his pets, Mae Mae and Charles, who brought him great comfort and companionship.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Rudolph R. Szany and Sue (nee Scott) Szany; his best friend and brother, Jeff King.

Bob is a 1992 graduate of George Rogers Clark High School in Hammond. He was a proud and dedicated employee of Morrison Construction and a loyal member of Local 41 Laborers Union. Bob had a deep love for music—he knew every song and artist—and he spent over 20 years as a member of the band Inzane.

Known for his strength and resilience, Bob was often described as a "Brick Wall." He valued authenticity and had no tolerance for phony people. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who truly knew and loved him.

A Celebration of Life for Szany's friends and family will be held on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Solan – Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave, Schererville, Indiana. Visitation will take place that day from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, with Celebration of Life Service at 7:30 PM.
