Rommel Abel Cruz age 49, of Munster Indiana passed away on Wednesday, August 14, 2024.

Rommel was born on April 21, 1975 to Rogelio and Helen Cruz in Bulacan Philippines. After Rommel graduated from San Miguel High School, he went on to study at the Technological Institute of the Philippines.
As a student, he first saw Lorelie Cruz caroling during the holidays and eventually went on to have two children, Annacoleen Cruz and Kian Andrei Cruz.

Rommel lived his life to the fullest, always prioritizing his family and attending to the needs of his friends with unwavering loyalty. His quiet yet faithful devotion to God guided his steps, and he seized every opportunity to check off his bucket list, embracing each moment with joy and gratitude. As a steadfast guide, confidant and harmonizer among his peers, he left valuable advice and guidance for others to remember when he is gone. These are emotional, encompassing values he wanted to impart to every member of every community he belonged.

Rommel left this earth wishing nothing but success and happiness for his children. While our hearts ache with his passing, we find solace in knowing that his final weeks, spent surrounded by loved ones, brought him profound joy and peace.

Rommel is predeceased by Rogelio Cruz, Helen Cruz, Riza Liza Cruz, and Ruby Rose Cruz. Rommel is survived by Lorelie Cruz, Annacoleen Cruz, Kian Andrei Cruz, Rhodora Enrile, and Jaqueline Flores.

A Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 18, 2024 from 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN. A service celebrating Rommel's life will be held at the funeral home on Sunday at 6:30 PM. Services will conclude at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, prayers for the family will be appreciated.
