ROSALEE KAY SPUDICH

age 74, of Highland, formerly of East Chicago, passed away September 5, 2014. Rosalee is survived by her children: Edward "Spud" Spudich, Nancy Spudich-Zellers and Ronald (Cathy) "Spud" Spudich; grandchildren Randall and Amy Zellers; aunt Silvia Mae Wilson; sister Carolyn Applegate; brother in law Donald (late Barb) Spudich; step brothers John (Phyllis) Wood and Robert (Susan) Wood; brother in law Jim (late Pat) Gilmore; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her loving husband Richard "Pooky" Spudich; parents Roy Furry and Hallie Wood; sister Joyce Juarez.

Rosalee was born in Flora, IL and graduated from East Chicago Roosevelt High class of '57. She worked for Blaskovich Chevrolet and then for Henry F. Eggers as a Bookkeeper for 22 years. Rosalee was a member and past President of: Highland Grandmothers, Fireman's Auxiliary and East Chicago Knights of Columbus. She was also a member of St. Mary Rosary Society and the Keenagers. Rosalee battled and survived cancer twice in her life and was a selfless woman; putting others before herself. "Mom never knew a stranger"

A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday September 10, 2014 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at St. Mary Catholic Church 525 Broad St. Griffith with Fr. Theodore Mens officiating. Rosalee will lie in state at the church from 9:30 AM until time of service. At rest St. John St. Joseph Cemetery Hammond. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday September 9, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville. Wake service 2:30 PM.
