Rose Ann Padilla

age 74, of Schererville, passed away on Thursday, January 7, 2021. Rose Ann is survived by her loving son David J. Padilla (Juli Sandoval) and many nieces, nephews, great nieces, and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, John Sapyta and  Mary Sapyta (nee Humlijan).

Rose Ann graduated from Gavit High School in 1965. She was crowned Gavit's first Homecoming Queen. Rose Ann enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She loved to bowl, cook, play bunco, and slot machines and travel. She was known for never passing up a good deal when she would go shopping. Rose Ann also loved to dance and was a huge Elvis fan. She loved attending Elvis impersonation shows and now she is hanging out with him in heaven with her blue suede shoes on.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held On Wednesday, January 13, 2021 at 10:30 AM directly at St. Michael the Archangel Church , 1 E. Wilhelm Street, Schererville, IN 46375 with Rev. Martin J. Dobrzynski officiating.  Burial will follow at St. Michael Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Diabetes Association would be appreciated.
