Roseann K. Kozy

Roseann K. Kozy, age 79, of Hammond, passed away on May 24, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother (granny) and aunt. She is survived by her three sons Mike (Wendy) Kozy of Griffith; Steve (Diann) Kozy of Crown Point; Mark (Sheryl) Kozy of Munster; 4 grandchildren Rhiannon, Lauren, Olivia and Denham; Sister Gloria Garwon and many nieces and nephews. Roseann is preceded in death by her loving husband Joseph, of 57 years and son Thomas.

Friends may visit with the family on Monday, May 30, 2016 FROM 3:00-8:00 pm at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at 10:00 AM DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 7132 Arizona Ave Hammond with Fr. Charles Mosley officiating. Roseann will lie in state at the church from 9:00 AM until time of mass. At rest St. John Cemetery Hammond.

Mrs. Kozy was born and raised in East Chicago where she graduated from Washington High School, class of 1954. Roseann was a devoted and loving wife, mother and homemaker. She was a volunteer at St. Catherina of Siena school and parish. After raising her boys, she worked at Walgreen's for over ten years. She was a member of Rosary Society, Topps Social Club and served on the St Catherine's of Siena Parish Counsel.

Roseann loved to cook and was always there to tell a story. She also loved to crochet and was a sewer of many dresses. Roseann very much enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and could never fail to make them laugh. She was also ready to play at the Penny Slots on the Casino Boats anytime. Along with being an extraordinary Granny, she was a joyous, caring person and will be greatly missed by her family and many friends.
