Obituary

RUBEN JOSE TREVIÑO SR.
age 85, of Hammond, passed away Saturday May 24, 2014 after a valiant fight against lung cancer. He was born January 8, 1929 in Penitas, TX to Jose and Amelia Treviño. Ruben is survived by his dear wife Olivia; sons: Ruben (Tina) Treviño Jr., Rene Treviño, Jaime (Ginny) Treviño, Rick (Karen) Treviño and RJ (Harley) Treviño; daughters: Lupe (John) Treviño-Houchin, Maria Gregor and Becky Schauer; sister Olivia; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, brothers and sisters in law.
Ruben retired from Inland Steel after 38 years of service and was a member of SOAR. He lived a full and happy life, loved to dance and mingle with his family and friends. Ruben will be greatly missed by his family and friends. His children will never forget what a great father, hard worker and wonderful man he was, who instilled the importance of values, morals and respect towards all. You will remain in our hearts until we meet again Dear Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Friend.
Our family expresses gratitude to Hospice of the Calumet Area for their support during this difficult time, as well as Dr. Kassar and his medical staff for the wonderful attention given to Dad and Mom during the last year. God Bless You All!
Please join us as our Lord Jesus welcomes him home. Friends may visit with the family on Friday May 30, 2014 from 2:00-7:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville. Prayers will be said at 6:30 PM at the funeral home. Cremation at Solan Pruzin to follow.
