SANDRA A. KOLBERT nee DUNCKER

age 75, of Hammond, passed away peacefully Wednesday August 13, 2014 with her family by her side. Sandra is survived by her children: Timothy (Jacqueline) Kolbert Sr., Robert (Karen) Kolbert Jr. and Kathy (Jim) Hejmej; grandchildren: Christopher (Stefanie) Hejmej, Daniel Hejmej, Lauren (Kevin) Proud, Timothy Kolbert Jr., Jennifer Kolbert, Meghann Hejmej and Andrew Kolbert; great grandchildren Matthew and Jacob Hejmej; beloved dog Buttercup; brother William (Carol) Duncker; brother in law Charles Stringham; many nieces, nephews and cousins; all of the ladies with The Red Hat Society and grief group. Preceded in death by her devoted husband Robert Sr., parents William and Esther, sister Karen Stringham.

Sandra enjoyed knitting and crochet, crafting and especially antiquing. She was an avid cook and would gather the family to make perogies after Thanksgiving. Sandra was a selfless woman, always putting her family first and never complained but carried herself with dignity. She will be dearly missed by her loving family.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 16, 2014 at 5:30 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville with Rev. Quincy Worthington officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Saturday from 2:00-6:00 PM at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations in Sandra's honor may be made to the William J. Riley House Munster.
