Dr. Sarla Goel, age 81, daughter of late Ratanchand R. Kanal and Kaushalya Devi Kanal, beloved wife of the late Dr. Arun K. Goel (married for 49 years,) proud mother of Rajiv Goel and Malini Goel, and adoring grandma to her granddaughter Mela Goel, passed away on January 28, 2025 after an extended illness.

She worked as a pediatrician in Northwest Indiana for over 30 years. She was a talented singer, hosting numerous charity concerts and cultural events in the greater Chicago area. She was a cherished family member, friend and community member and is survived by her beloved son, daughter and granddaughter, dearest siblings and their spouses and scores of loving nieces and nephews and extended family. Her passing leaves a void that can never be filled but we wish her eternal rest and bliss, free from all pain and encumbrances.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory, 14 Kennedy Ave, Schererville, IN 46375. Community visitation, remarks and remembrances will be held from 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM. Last rites and cremation will immediately follow at 3:00 PM.
