Sharon M. Chafin-Burke (nee Murawski)

Sharon M. Chafin-Burke (nee Murawski), age 79, of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 11, 2026.

Sharon is survived by her loving husband and companion of 20 years, Michael Burke; her beloved daughter, Dru (Charles) Cole; cherished granddaughters, Calli Chafin and Kendall Cole; niece, Janelle (Scott) Schmidt, and their children, Cassidy and Braden; nephew, Ken (Sherry) Roberson; and many loving friends and relatives whose lives were enriched by her presence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Casimir Murawski and Jane Barbara Murawski (nee Serafin); sister and brother-in-law, Barbara (Carl) Roberson.

A graduate of Fenger High School, Sharon also attended college for several years. She was a determined, ambitious, and quick-witted woman who approached life with confidence and enthusiasm. During her career at Sherwin-Williams, Sharon formed some of her closest and most treasured friendships, many of which remained strong and meaningful throughout her life.

Sharon had a passion for travel and especially treasured her trips throughout Europe. Her love of exploring the world inspired her to establish and operate her own business, Let’s Get Packing, which she proudly owned for many years. An animal lover at heart, she always had a special place for pets. Her door was always open to stray animals in need of care, comfort, and a loving home. She enjoyed bringing family together, often hosting memorable gatherings filled with laughter, good conversation, and her favorite vodka martinis on the rocks.

An avid cook, Sharon delighted in creating meals for those she loved and even authored several cookbooks. She was also a talented writer who penned several risqué romance novels, showcasing her creativity, imagination, and spirited sense of humor.

Above all, Sharon will be remembered for her intelligence, determination, generosity, and ability to make those around her feel welcome. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.

A Celebration of Sharon’s Life will be held on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. A Service commemorating Sharon’s life will be held at 7:30 PM. Services conclude at the funeral home.
