It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our aunt, Sharon Yelinich (nee Wisler) age 87, of Highland, IN, who passed away, peacefully, Thursday, May 28th, 2026.

Sharon was a devoted member of Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Highland, IN. She worked for many years at Mademoiselle Dress Shop in sales. She found joy in cooking like her famous chili and macaroni salad, gardening, yard work and taking walks with Mary. Sharon will be remembered for her caring heart, strong spirit and the warmth she shared with everyone around her.

The family has many special memories of our aunt that have left footprints on our hearts…

*Hearing her sing with Uncle Jack one of her favorite songs “Cherry Pie”

*Dancing the Jitterbug with Uncle Jack.

*Stories of her precious dog Bridget.

*Eating perch caught by Uncle Jack and prepared by Aunt Sharon.

*Going to Aunt Sharon and Uncle Jack’s apartment every Monday evening, after our Indiana Harbor Jr Tamburitzans dance and tambura practice, to visit while eating a box of Jays Potato Chips with a pop!

*Grocery shopping every Thursday at Strack & Van Tils with Anne and driver Yvonne or Donald followed by lunch afterwards!

*Sitting in the back row of Church with the ladies for Saturday’s 4:30 PM Mass at OLG.

*Ordering a crumbled sausage and cheese pizza from Langel’s after 4:30 Mass.

***AND…Oh My if the KITCHEN TABLE could talk!!! Discussions about anything and everything, the fun, the laughter with all of us sitting around the table enjoying each other’s company.

*But most of all we will remember and miss our aunt’s wonderful laugh, sweet smile and her twinkling/sparking green eyes!!
