Stanley A. Nalewski
age 94, of East Chicago, passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018. Stanley is preceded in death by his devoted wife of 67 years, Iona and is survived by his loving children: Mickie (Jeff) Stur, Kathy Nalewski, Stanley R. Nalewski, Patti (Eddy) Centkowski, Judith Ann Rutovic and Tina (Rich) Bronisz; brother Alex Czajkowski; grandchildren: Heather (Jay), Erica (Dave), Jeffrey, Christi Anne (Nate), Stan R. II, April (Tres), Mathew, Serena Marie, Tricia (Kevin), Breanne (Bob) and Jonathan; 10 great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law Dolly and Bobbi; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Stanley is also preceded in death by his parents Michalina and John; siblings: Dan, Joe and Harriet.
Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday, March 21, 2018 from 3:00 – 8:00 PM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave Schererville, IN. Wake service 3:30 pm. American Legion Allied Post 369 will post colors at 4:30 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, March 22, 2018 at 10:30 AM directly at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church 3025 Highway Ave Highland, IN with Fr. Edward J. Moszur officiating. Visitation will be held at the church on Thursday from 10:00 am until time of service. Following mass, he will be laid to rest with Iona at Chapel Lawn Cemetery Schererville, IN.
Stanley proudly served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a 30+ year member of American Legion Post 369, serving as both Chaplain and Historian. The family would like to acknowledge the care provided by Munster Med-Inn.
