Stefania Maximtsev-Dzeryn (nee Eisler)

Stefania Maximtsev-Dzeryn, age 88, of St. John, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 20, 2024. Stefania is survived by her loving son, Taras (Natalia) Maximtsev; precious grandchildren: Maxim (Mariya) Maximtsev, Markian Maximtsev, and Matthew Maximtsev; sister, Olga Oliynyk and her family in Ukraine; great-niece, Olga (Ruslan) Dlugosh and her daughter Katerina; and her cousin, Kristina Wasyak. Preceded in death by her first husband, Peter Maximtsev; second husband, Nicolay Dzeryn; and parents, Vladimir and Anna Eisler.

A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, directly at Descent of the Holy Spirit Orthodox Church, 545 E. 77th Ave, Schererville, IN with Fr. Lev Holowaty officiating. Stefania will lie in state at the church from 10:00 AM until time of service. Burial to follow at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville, IN.
