Stephanie Spolarich of Schererville, IN passed away on Monday, November 18, 2024.

She is survived by her sister Anita (late Raymond) Sejna, special cousins, Michele (late Mark) Schmanke and Kim Pieszchala.  Also, lifelong friends Pam Lacko Kelly, Diane Lacko Pries and Jane Nowakowski.

Stephanie wore many hats through her long career in nursing.  She was currently an adjunct faculty member at the University of St. Francis in Crown Point.  She received her Bachelors, Masters and teaching degrees from Purdue University.  Stephanie had a passion for learning and was always researching new topics, especially in the medical field.

Stephanie was a lifelong member of Croatian lodges 856 and 170.  She was a member of the Indiana Harbor Jr. Tamburitzans growing up, where she still has good friends spanning over 60 years. Stephanie was a musician with the Hoosier Hrvati Adult Tamburitzans.

Only her faith in God's grace, her own medical knowledge and stubborn determination had gotten her through life's challenges.  She often commented on how blessed and truly grateful she was for the support of family and friends.

A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, December 13, 2024 from 4:00 PM-8:00 PM at Solan-Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Saturday, December 14, 2024, DIRECTLY at St. John Bosco Church, 7113 Columbia Ave., Hammond, IN with Fr. Jeffrey D. Burton officiating. Friends may visit with the family at the church from 9:30 AM until time of Mass. Before time of Mass the Nurse Honor Guard will honor Stephanie. Burial to follow at St. John St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Hammond, IN. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Share Foundation or Humane Indiana.
