Swaze Armstrong, Jr.

Age 90, of Griffith, IN passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Joan (nee Hannenberg); children: Michael Armstrong, Joyce Armstrong-Lopez, Gary Armstrong, Joseph (Dawn) Armstrong, James Armstrong, and Jerome Armstrong; grandchildren: Joseph Jr., Miranda, Brooke, Alyssa, James Jr., Marissa, and Skylar. Preceded in death by his parents, Swaze Sr. and Cora Armstrong; and many siblings.

Born with a heart for duty, Swaze devoted 20 years of his life to the United States Navy, where he served with honor during both the Korean and Vietnam Wars. The Navy was not just a career for Swaze—it was his life, shaping him into the steadfast man his family and friends will always remember.

After retiring from the military, Swaze traded the deck of a ship for the open road, embarking on a second chapter as a truck driver. He is survived by a grateful nation and his memory will live on in the stories of his service, the miles he traveled, and the lives he impacted.
