Theodore "Ted" A. Petkey

age 69, of Highland, passed away on Monday, April 10. 2023. Ted is survived by his brother, John W. Petkey, of Schererville and sister, Linda (Todd) Fraker, of Lancaster, OH; and niece Katarina Petkey, of Schererville. Preceded in death by his parents, Maureen and John H. Petkey.

Ted was a 1972 graduate of Highland High School. He was a proud steel worker with LTV Steel. As a steelworker, Ted developed a resilient and durable mindset that helped him persevere through everyday life challenges and numerous health issues. In his later years he had a fondness for gardening and cooking. Ted lived in the house he had grown up in. Though the nearby residents have changed over the years, they all commented on what a kind and generous neighbor he was.
