Thomas Donald Campbell
age 43, of Cedar Lake, passed away Wednesday, September 10, 2014, following a 9 year battle with brain cancer. Thomas was a loving and devoted husband to Kelly of 9 ½ years (nee Sheridan); doting father to Abigail and Eleanor; son of Colette Doolin and Scott Campbell; son-in-law to Kathleen Lundquist and Daniel Sheridan; brother to Diana(Stuart)Disbury, Scott (Kellie) Campbell, Shane (Cathy) Campbell, Catherine Bell, Michael (Lindsey) Campbell, Kelly (Mark) Lackey, Cara (Brian) Brock, Julie Campbell (Bobby) Costello; brother-in-law to Joseph Sheridan, Kevin Sheridan, Timothy (Nicole) Sheridan, Sara (Leif) Reese, Rebecca Sheridan. Fun-loving uncle and mentor to 26 nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his grandparents, Genevieve and Thomas Doolin, Jane and Donald Campbell, nephew John McElmurry Campbell, cousins Kimberly Doolin-Balch, Theodore Doolin, Katie Mulflur, and John Doolin. Thomas was a dear friend and neighbor to so many. Always willing to forget his own struggles and lend a helping hand to anyone in need. He will also be sorely missed by his faithful companions Sissy, his miniature dashund and Little Lou his cat.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, September 15, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, 1 W. Wilhelm St., Schererville, IN with Rev. Martin J. Dobrzynski officiating. Prayers will start at 9:30 a.m. at the funeral home. At rest St. Michael Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Sunday, September 14, 2014 from 2:00-8:00 p.m.at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) in Schererville, with a 2:00 p.m. prayer service.
Thomas was a 1989 graduate of Hanover Central High School and earned a Business Degree in 2002 from Indiana University Northwest. He served our country in the United States Marine Corps and is a Gulf War Veteran; he was a member of the VFW Post in Saint John. Tom was also an active member of St. Michael's Parish in Schererville where he participated in the Music Ministry, sharing the gift of his beautiful voice. Thomas was a Local 150 Operating Engineer for 15years.
