Thomas Sencaj
Age 83, of Highland, IN, passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Evelyn (nee Gesmond); children, Steven (Christine) of Schererville, Michele (Gerry) Nisle of Schererville, and Greg (Christina) of Plainville, MA; grandchildren, Rachel, Ashley, Alex, Ben, Mia, Hannah, Brendan, and Caitlyn; uncle, Frank (Grace) Simaga of Whiting; aunts, Mary Kereas of Munster, and Barbara (Ronald) Mosca of Whiting.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 4, 2015, 10:30 a.m., DIRECTLY at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church, 3025 Highway Ave., Highland, IN 46322 with Rev. Edward J. Moszur officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. Thomas will be laid to rest after the Mass at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave. (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville, IN 46375 from 3 till 8 p.m.
Thomas was a Korean War Navy Veteran who served on the USS Midway. He retired from Inland Steel after 33 years of service, and was a Indiana State Trooper. He was a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union, Lodge #170. Thomas enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and was an avid Nortre Dame Fan.
