IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Thomas "Tom" "Tommy" C.
Vaughn
August 31, 1943 – February 20, 2026
Thomas “Tom” “Tommy” C. Vaughn
Age 82, of Highland, Indiana, passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family on Friday, February 20, 2026.
Tom is survived by his loving sister, Patsy Vaughn – Kille; sister-in-law, Stephanie Vaughn; his dear friend, Rita Wenglarz; aunt, Marge Osborne; and many cherished cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Anne Vaughn; brother, Jim Vaughn; and numerous loving aunts and uncles.
A proud 1961 graduate of Hammond Technical High School, Tom went on to build a dedicated career with Lever Brothers, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.
Tom was deeply committed to his sobriety and found strength and fellowship through Alcoholics Anonymous. He was a proud recipient of his 40-year coin, a milestone that reflected his perseverance, faith, and dedication. AA was truly a cornerstone of his life.
An adventurous spirit, Tom loved to travel and took pride in having visited every National Park except American Samoa. He cherished the beauty of the outdoors and the memories made along the way. He especially loved his cat, Creamsicle-lovingly named for Tom’s own love of ice cream-who brought him great comfort and companionship.
The family extends a heartfelt thank you to his devoted cousin and nurse, Jane Surd, for her compassionate and attentive care.
A Visitation will be held Tuesday, February 24, 2026, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, with 12:00 PM Rite of Christian Burial, officiated by Fr. Bruce Riebe, DIRECTLY at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church, 8103 Columbia Ave., Munster, IN. Services conclude at Church. Services entrusted to Solan – Pruzin Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tom’s loving family.
