Velma Lee Cooper Nee: DeFoe

age 88, of Calumet Township, passed away Friday March 24, 2017. Velma is survived by 5 children: Gary (Jane Foster) Cooper, Becky (Steve) Becke-Coble, Lois (Randy) Hamilton, Marsha (Albert) Eaton & DeAnna (Rick) Rondinelli; "number two son" Robert (Yolanda) Santos; grandchildren: Kelly, Gary II, Kyle, Mary, Keith, Michael, Afton, Tiffany, Jeremie, Brittni, Anthony, Rhett, Michelle & Cheryl; great grandchildren: Kassie, Jimmy, Gary III, Gabriele, Cody, Emilia, Brody, Sloan,  Bryce, Haydn ,Aiden, Braden, Tim, Zachery, Jessica, Kayla, Andrew & Madison, Tony & Maxwell; 3 sisters: Goldie(late Ted) Wall, Annie(Kenny) Gilliand, Frances Spear; numerous nieces, nephews and best friend Gayle Hughes. Preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Wanga, brothers and sisters.

Velma loved spending time with and cooking for her family, enjoyed her grandchildren & great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the charity of your choice or Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 29, 2017  10:30 AM at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville, IN with Deacon Raymond Helfen officiating. At rest Chapel Lawn Cemetery Schererville. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday March 28, 2017 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
