Victor Manuel Garza

Age 75, of East Chicago, IN passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025. He is survived by his beloved wife of 47 years, Maria (del Carmen Ramos) Garza; children, Karina (Pedro) Flores, Cristina (Juan) Carbajal and Victor A. (Maritsa) Garza; precious grandchildren Maria de Jesus Carbajal, Juan Manuel Carbajal, Ava Victoria Flores and Bella Victoria Garza; brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his grandson, Pedro Flores Jr; parents, Fidel Garza and Maria de Jesus (nee Abrego) Garza; brother, Hector Garza.

Victor Manuel Garza, born in Sabinas Hidalgo Nuevo Leon, Mexico. A devoted family man and proud retiree, Victor dedicated over 30 years of hard work to Inland Steel before enjoying his well-earned retirement.

Victor was a proud member of the U.B.M. Club in East Chicago and known for his love of life's simple pleasures-cheering on his favorite teams in baseball, soccer, and boxing, spending weekends barbecuing with family, and savoring an ice-cold beer. A familiar face at the casino, he especially enjoyed the thrill of playing the slots. He was also an avid follower of the news, always tuned into politics and current events.

From a young age, Victor was known for his discipline and dedication- never missing a day of school and always earning straight A's. That same drive and determination carried through his entire life, earning him the respect and admiration of all who knew him.

Victor's warmth, wit, and unwavering honesty left a lasting impression on everyone he met. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched.Service are private and entrusted at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., Schererville, IN.
