Virginia Sue Hill
Virginia Sue Hill passed away peacefully on March 24. 2020 surrounded by family. She was 84 years old.
Virginia, known to her friends as Sue, was born on June 14, 1935 to Earl and Virgie Foster of Walnut Ridge Arkansas.
She married James Hill on December 20, 1952. Together they had three daughters, Vickie (Thomas) Genovesi, Donna Hill (Jim Fitzsimons) and Rhonda (Gary) Nawrocki. She had 10 Grandchildren: Christopher (Nicole) Genovesi, Sandra McClure (Kenny Kotras), Trisha Hill, Marcia (Joseph) Stasko, Kristal Tomlinson, Nichole (Bill) Johnsen, Tina Nawrocki, Shawn (Margaret) Nawrocki, Sarah (Derek) Armstrong and Ryan (John) Ly. Virginia had 34 Great Grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Dear friends Imogene Carter, Tom Wallace and Jan Marovich, Betty Genovesi and Sparky, her Treasured Friends rescue cat.
She was preceded in death by her Beloved Husband James Hill, Parents Earl and Virgie Foster, Sister Patricia Merritt and Brother-In-Law Barney Merritt.
Sue loved her garden, fishing, spending time with her family and friends and was a fantastic cook. She loved relaxing with her cat Sparky while talking to her friends and family. Patricia Merritt, her sister, and childhood friend Imogene Carter were her lifelong best friends. She had the kindest heart and left an impression on everyone she met. She was a hard worker and faced every day with a smile no matter how she felt. She had a beautiful smile and will be deeply missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Sue was a longtime resident of Hammond, In. where she and her husband owned and operated Jim Hill's Furniture Refinishing. She recently lived in Knox, IN.
A limited visitation will take place on Wednesday, April 1, 2020 from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Avenue, Schererville, IN. A private Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 10:00 AM, Burial at Elmwood, Cemetery in Hammond, IN. We are asking no more than 10 people at a time as requested by our Governor of Indiana. To maintain that, we ask families to wait in their vehicles in the front of the building and we will usher them in as other families paying their respects leave.
