Virginia Joy Eib was born in Richmond, Virginia on June 25, 1981. She was the eldest of two children and was always an overachieving child. Ginny's parents divorced when she was 6, and this was a difficult time for her, but the struggles she would endure when the court separated, she and her brother would go on to strengthen the tenacity and fighting spirit so many of us knew her for. Despite the earlier strife, Ginny was a gifted student and won a statewide achievement award for her work on her high school newspaper before graduating from high school a year early.
She went on to Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond where she met her doting husband Camillus Robinson working in the student ID card office in October 2000. Knowing immediately that Ginny was meant to be the most important woman in his life, Camillus gave her the keys to his apartment the second time he ever saw her—perhaps it's pertinent to add here that both had been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, but it worked well for them. Over the next eight years, they lived around Virginia and even spent a year in Little Rock, Arkansas.
In 2008, they moved to Munster for Camillus's job in Chicago and the two were married at the Lake County Courthouse on March 20, 2008, the single greatest day of her husband's life. They were the proud parents of two dogs, an irascible Olde English Bulldogge named Woodrow, and a beautiful Springer Spaniel named Edith who were the couple's constant companions for fifteen years before both passing in 2017.
In 2013, Ginny went back to school at Purdue Calumet and graduated with honors from the school of English. Ginny worked a variety of jobs before finding substitute teaching where she discovered her true passion, following in the footsteps of her grandmother, who was also a teacher. Ginny subbed for several years before hiring on at Munster High School in a full-time position where she was participating in Indiana's "Transition to Teaching" program, earning her teaching certificate while also instructing 11 th and 12 th grade. It was at Munster High School that Ginny found true happiness and satisfaction in interacting with her students and fellow teachers. The final year of her life was her happiest.
Ginny loved art, poetry, charity, her German Shepherd Thor, Nike Air Jordan sneakers, and life in general. She was a shining light to those who were blessed enough to know her, and we shall be fortunate enough to carry that light with us, going forward richer for having had her in our lives. She was a beautiful soul, and will be deeply missed.
