Wally was a proud and dedicated crane operator for over 40 years, retiring from Arcelor Mittal where he earned a reputation as one of the very best. He had an unmatched work ethic and a spirited approach to life-marching to the beat of his own drum and never afraid to speak his mind, often declaring that "everything was a $1.298"-which was his own way of saying "none of your business".
Outside of work, Wally was a family man through and through. He loved taking pictures with the family, cooking hearty meals, going camping and fishing-especially in Plymouth, Indiana- and spending time with his grandchildren, whom he adored. His travels took him to Tennessee and Disney World, making memories that will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
Wally also had a passion for collecting firearms and going to the range, always enjoying the precision and peace it brought him. In his later years, his loyal dog, Buddy, was his constant companion and source of comfort.
Though gruff on the outside, Walter had a kind heart and a deep love for those closest to him. His spirit, humor, and one-of-a-kind personality will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
In accordance with Wally's wishes, services were private and entrusted to Solan Pruzin Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family.
Rest easy, Wally-you were truly one of a kind.
