Wanda M Baran "Blondie" ( nee Bielak)

age 89 of Griffith, IN passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017, surrounded by family. Preceded in death by her husband, Mitchell M. Baran, daughter Renee Dubczak (Baran) and loving son-in-law Frank Dubczak, brothers Joseph, John, Frank, Chester, sister Estelle and parents Mary and John. She is survived by her 3 children Mitchell Baran, Susan (Doug) Fortner, Kenneth (Kelly) Baran, 12 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. A devout Catholic, she was a longtime member of St. Mary's Church in Griffith, In.

As a mother, grandmother and great grandmother, the love for her family was immeasurable and she never put herself first.  She was a master in the kitchen with her authentic Polish recipes. She was the one we all turned to for her honest advice. She had an unwavering faith in God which she instilled in all of her children. She was an avid sports fan of her beloved Chicago White Sox and Green Bay Packers and loved doing her crossword puzzles and crocheting. The words written today cannot do justice for everything she has done for her family. We find comfort in knowing that she is in the arms of her husband and daughter.

A private ceremony will held for immediate family members.
