Warren G. Shulz

Age 72, of Griffith, IN, formerly Calumet City, IL, passed away on Monday, December 31, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Warren is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Donna (nee Ogle); daughters, Lynne (Brad) Norling of Knoxville, TN and Lisa Shulz of Portland, OR; granddaughter, Rylee Norling; sister, Jacqueline (late Roland) Ring of Hickory, NC; several nephews, nieces including special niece Laura (Derrick) Cook.  Warren was preceded in death by his parents, Barney and Virginia Shulz.

A Funeral Service Celebrating Warren's Life will be held on Thursday, January 3, 2018 at 7:00 PM at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home , 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) in Schererville, IN with Rev. Theodore Mens officiating. A visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 2:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Services conclude at the funeral home.

Warren was a 1964 graduate of Chicago Vocational High School. He was a graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.  Warren retired in 2012 after 50 years as Chief Engineer at WKFM, WFYR, and WLS AM & FM. Warren was a life member of IEEE (Institute of Electronic Electrical Engineers), life member of SBE (Society of Broadcast Engineers), member of NARTE (National Association of Radio & Television Engineers), member of AES (Audio Engineering Society). He was also past board member of FEMA (radio division). Ham Radio Operator WA9GXZ. He enjoyed camping and riding his homemade electric bicycle. Warren was a loving husband and father that will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice of the Calumet would be appreciated.
