Wilbur Fred Hoover "Willie"

age 60, of Highland, IN passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014. He is survived by his loving mother, Beverly; brothers, Dennis (Linda), Alan (Sue), Kurt (Lori); sisters, Sheila (Carlos) Saldana, Elaine (Dale) Merry, Janet (Jim) Mischka; many aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces, and cousins; great nieces and nephews. Wilbur is preceded in death by his father, Wilbur Sr.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., (corner of Main and Kennedy) in Schererville, IN 46375 with Pastor Willis Hayes officiating. Wilbur will be laid to rest at Chapel Lawn Cemetery, Schererville, IN. Friends may visit with the family on Monday at the funeral home from 2 till 8 p.m.

Wilbur worked at the "ARC" in Highland for over 40 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hammond, where he was with "Pathfinders" for 50 years. He enjoyed Munster Challenger's Baseball, basketball, and bowling with ARC. He was also active with Tri-City Special Games, and was known as a "slow dance teacher". Wilbur was loved by all, and touched the lives of many. He had a hug for everyone he met. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family would be appreciated.
