WILLIAM O. FUNSTON

age 82, passed away Sunday February 9, 2014. Bill is survived by his children: William O. (Cindy) Funston, of Santa Claus, IN; Matthew Funston, of Sterling, VA; Mary E. (Mark) Norquist, of Antioch, IL; Kathleen (John) Kratkoczki, of St. John; grandchildren: Amanda (Jarod) Kuebler, Sarah Funston, Megan Funston, Will Funston, Brandon Kratkoczki, Elise Kratkoczki and Christian Norquist; great grandchildren Lily and Hannah Kuebler; sister Bonnie (Bob) Babcock; nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 58 years Ethel, parents William and Margaret.

Bill was a longtime area resident and member of St. James the Less Parish. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid sports fan and a talented craftsman. Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and brother who will be dearly missed.

Funeral services will be held on Friday February 14, 2014 beginning with 9:30 AM prayers at the Solan Pruzin Funeral Home & Crematory 14 Kennedy Ave (corner of Main and Kennedy) Schererville for a 10:00 AM mass at St. James the Less Church 9640 Kennedy Ave Highland with Fr. Keith Virus officiating. At rest St. John Cemetery Hammond. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday February 13, 2014 from 4:00-8:00 PM at the funeral home.
