WILLIAM P. SEDLAK
"Bill"
age 71, died most peacefully at his home on Wednesday, September 17, with loving family by his side. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Carol (nee Larimer); and preceded in death by his mother, Louise Yuhas; father, William J. Sedlak; dear niece (Karen McDonald-age 7); dear niece , Michelle McCord Davis; and his brother-in-law, Matt Kerger. He leaves behind his three sisters, Ruth (Matt) Kerger, Anita (Bob) McCord, and Janet (Scotty) McDonald. Bill is also being missed by his beloved pets; Sophia, Tula, Mushka and little Ozzie along with many beloved nieces and nephews; and a dear, close cousin in France, Janis Giraud.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. at Solan Pruzin Funeral Home, 14 Kennedy Ave., (corner of Main and Kennedy) in Schererville, IN 46375 with Rev. Gerald Schweitzer officiating. Friends may visit with the family on Tuesday at the funeral home form 3 p.m. until time of service.
Bill served for a time as Financial Aid Advisor at Davenport College and Calumet College of St. Joseph. Bill also worked as an accountant for US Steel Supply Division. Bill retired from the Cook County Department of Revenue as the Accounting Supervisor. While living in The Islands of Barrington Ridge, Bill volunteered as Treasurer of the Town Homes Board as well as the Barrington Ridge Pool/Clubhouse Board. He and Carol have been Hobart residents for 19 years. Bill was very loved by his family and well liked by all who met him and - he knew the Lord Jesus as his Savior. He was an avid football fan and enjoyed telling good jokes. May he rest in the peace of our Lord Jesus Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations to the family for their wishes, would be appreciated.
