Zora Cloghessy (nee Matich)

Age 97, late of Highland, IN, formerly of East Side, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026. Born in Indianapolis on October 26, 1928 to the late Vujo and Spophie Matich.

Zora worked at Lowery Brothers for 42 years, where she retired in 1991. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, David J. Cloghessy Sr. She is also preceded in death by her stepdaughter, Laura (still living, Elliot) Gitten, sisters, Mary (Dan) Drakulich, and Mitzie (Robert) Davis; brothers, Mike (Fran) Matich, and George (Nonnie) Matich. Survived by children, Dawn Matich, and Steven (Janet) Milosevich; grandchildren, Zack and Anna. Zora is also survived by stepchildren; Linda (Ed) Perz, Eleanore Hittner, David (Maureen) Cloghessy, and Mary (Mark) Girman. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday at 10:00 AM on January 12, 2026 at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Eastern Orthodox Church, 1500 E. 186th St., Lansing, Il. Zora will Lie-In-State at the church until time of service. Burial to follow at The Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery, Elwood, IL.
